Karim El-Jis

Executive Director, Red Sea Global

Karim El-Jisr is the Executive Director of Sustainability Performance & Accreditation at Red Sea Global (RSG), the developer behind The Red Sea and Amaala. In this role, he helps drive RSG’s mission to redefine the built environment through a regenerative approach.

With over two decades of leadership in sustainability, Karim oversees RSG’s strategy for sustainability performance, ESG reporting, and green building certifications, ensuring the company meets and exceeds international standards across its portfolio. His work is central to embedding regenerative principles into every aspect of RSG’s development model — from infrastructure to hospitality and community design.

Prior to joining RSG, Karim was Chief Sustainability Officer at Diamond Developers, where he played a pivotal role in the creation and operation of The Sustainable City in Dubai — the first Net Zero Energy community in the GCC. He also helped lead the expansion of this award-winning model to Sharjah, Abu Dhabi, and Muscat, and spearheaded ESG integration and sustainability governance practices.

An internationally recognized advocate for climate action and sustainable construction, Karim has authored and directed the publication of multiple environmental reports for governments and corporates, addressing challenges around decarbonization, biodiversity, and climate resilience.
