Faisal Butt is the Group Head of Planning & Controls and heads the Technical Project Management Office at Red Sea Global (RSG), a closed joint stock company wholly owned by the Public Investment Fund (PIF), Saudi Arabia's sovereign wealth fund.
In this role, Faisal brings over 15 years of industry experience and leads, oversees project governance and compliance, project controls, quality management, reporting, project risk management, project planning and digital delivery systems across the Group’s projects, including The Red Sea and AMAALA, two exceptional, regenerative tourism destinations that aim to set new standards in sustainable development and put Saudi Arabia on the global tourism map.
Faisal was one of the groundbreakers of RSG’s core team, in which he played an instrumental role in developing the overall delivery strategy for The Red Sea destination, including the set up of delivery models, project governance and procedures, procurement of various consultants, and set up of project management systems.
Prior to joining RSG, Faisal worked within the Business Advisory practice of Arcadis Middle East, where he led a number of strategic and business transformation assignments for clients, including Abu Dhabi Investment Authority (ADIA), Qatar Rail, Qatar Foundation, Abu Dhabi Ports and EMAAR to name a few.
Prior to moving to the Middle East, Faisal worked at Enerkem in Canada, leading project finance and development projects for Enerkem’s waste to fuels technology in North America and Europe.
He holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree with a major in Finance from McGill University, Canada.
