Ahmad Alnafessahis the general manager of the Smart Cities Technologies Institute (SCTI) at King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology (KACST) where he leads the development and implementation of innovative smart city initiatives that aim to improve the quality of life for citizens to enhance sustainability and promote economic growth, with over 14 years of extensive experience in business development innovation and strategic planning. He has a proven track record of delivering exceptional outcomes and driving positive change in the private and public sectors. As the founder and the general manager of the Smart Cities Technologies Institute, Ahmad collaborate with city official stakeholders and partners to create and execute a strategic plan that leverages R&D technologies and data-driven solutions to create more innovative and more liveable cities in Saudi Arabia. His core competencies include artificial intelligence big data, digital twins, IoT, and digital twins, which he has applied and advanced through his academic and professional endeavors. Ahmad holds a Ph.D. in AI and Big Data from Imperial College London. He is also an Artificial Intelligence Lead at the C4IR World Economic Forum Affiliate centers.
